Robert Longo: Men in the Cities
Robert Longo’s Men in the Cities series (1976–1982) portray drawings of sharply dressed business people writhing in contortion—a death dance of sorts of the modern man. For this series, Longo used his friends as models, which he shot on the roof of his loft. These hyperrealistic drawings recall both stills from violent movie scenes and sculptures of man in agony from the history of art. This book, originally published in 2009 and featuring these drawings, is now available in its second edition. Introduction by Cindy Sherman. Interview with Longo by Richard Prince.
