Cecily Brown’s Black Painting 1 (2020) belongs to a series of paintings the artist initiated as a mechanism for exploring desire. Centering around a solitary figure surrounded by a range of lustful ghostly suitors, the artwork is offered in an edition of 50, each printed on 330gsm Epson Hot Press natural paper, and signed and numbered by the artist.
