Plate by Mickalene Thomas

Inspired by the “Beauty of the Week” feature in JET magazine, which encapsulated Black joy, style, and beauty Mickalene Thomas created October, 1950, which aligns with her ‘Jet Blue’ (2018–ongoing) series. Mickalene created this 2nd limited edition plate in for The Artist Plate Project along with more than 98 world-renowned artists. Proceeds from each sale provide food, crisis services, housing, and other critical aid to thousands of people experiencing homelessness and instability. Each plate is presented in a decorative blue box accompanied by her printed signature. Online promotions are not applicable.
