In Blue Flower & Skulls (2016), a saturated field of blossoms and grinning skulls sets bright surface against darker undertone. Murakami’s Superflat finish compresses depth into crisp contours and flat color, so the eye moves between joy and memento mori without missing a beat. Pattern becomes pulse, turning repetition into rhythm on the wall.
Created as an offset lithograph in colors on wove paper, the work is produced in an edition of 300, with each impression hand-signed and numbered by the artist.
