With And then and then and then and then and then (Pink) 2011, Mr. DOB floats in a luminous pink palette that reads sweet at first, then reveals a sly edge. The intense, wide-eyed gaze and crisp contours hold that Murakami tension between playfulness and something more unsettling. Superflat precision flattens space into a refined plane of color and line, while the looping “and then” keeps the eye moving.
Produced as an offset lithograph in colors on wove paper, the edition is limited to 300, each hand-signed and numbered by Takashi Murakami.
