In Hoyoyo (2007), Takashi Murakami reimagines his recurring character Mr. DOB in an explosion of vivid color and energy. The figure’s overlapping expressions and fragmented form evoke both delight and distortion, reflecting Murakami’s ongoing exploration of identity, repetition, and spectacle. The glossy surface and flattened space exemplify his Superflat aesthetic, blending anime-inspired graphics with painterly precision.
Produced as an offset lithograph in colors on wove paper, this limited edition of 300 is hand-signed and numbered by Takashi Murakami.
