Takashi Murakami’s Nirvana (2008) expands the artist’s visual universe into a richly layered composition populated by an array of fantastical characters, celestial forms, and spiritual motifs. Drawing upon both Buddhist iconography and contemporary pop culture, the work reflects Murakami’s ongoing dialogue between tradition and modernity, the sacred and the profane.

Aligned with his Superflat aesthetic, the surface collapses depth into a brilliant, graphic plane where luminous colors and intricate detail create a sense of both playfulness and transcendence. 

Realized as an offset lithograph in colors on wove paper, the edition is limited to 300, each hand-signed and numbered by the artist.
